Privacy Policy

Due to the nature of our services, our consultants will often be handling personal information collected from you. HANSEL International Executive Search Limited (“Hansel”) is committed to protect the privacy of our candidates and we endeavour to ensure that such personal information are handled in a manner that comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486).

 

1.    Statement of Practices

When providing recruitment and referral services to our job seekers, it is in Hansel’s usual practice for our consultants to collect personal data directly from job seekers, in person, by phone or email, or indirectly via job-listing portal. Personal data will be handled in accordance to our Privacy Policy to ensure confidentiality and privacy of our job seekers are properly protected. 

 

2.    Type of Personal Data Collected and Held

Personal data means any data (a) relating directly or indirectly to a living individual; (b) from which it is practicable for the identity of the individual to be directly or indirectly ascertained; and (c) in a form in which access to or processing of the data is practicable;

The types of personal data that may be collected and held by Hansel incidental to our services to job seekers include, but not limited to:

• Name
• Date of Birth
• Identification Number of Identity Documents 
• Nationality
• Phone Number
• Postal & Residential Address
• Marital & Family Status
• Email Address
• Language
• Skills 
• Professional & Academic Qualifications
• Work Experience & Employment History
• Employment References
• Remuneration Details 
• Salary References (eg. Pay-slip, Tax-return etc.)
• Contacts of Referee 
• Other personal data obtained or received by us in relation to possible work placement etc.


3.    Consent

By providing us with your personal data, either in person, by phone, email, or by submitting your CV to us via job-listing portal, you are deemed to have given us the consent to collect, hold, and disclose your personal data in accordance with this policy. 

In other circumstances where your personal data is collected by Hansel from third party incidental to our provision of services, we will take reasonable steps to inform you about such collection of data, and all personal data will be hold and disclose in accordance with this policy.  

4.    Use and Disclosures of Personal Data

Hansel holds, uses and discloses your personal data for the following purposes:

a)  to provide our services to you;


b)  to maintain our business relationship, where you are a client or candidate;


c)  to match your coded details with job vacancies, to assist us in finding a position that is most suitable for you and, where you provide your prior consent as a candidate, to send your personal data to clients in order to apply for jobs;


d)  to answer your enquiry;


e)  to direct-market products and services, advise you of news and industry updates, events, promotions and competitions, reports and other information. Where we do so, you will be able to unsubscribe from such communications;


f)  where you are registered as a candidate on our database, your personal data will be accessible by our consultants within the jurisdiction of HKSAR;


g)  to trusted third parties where we have retained them to provide services that you have requested, such as psychometric evaluations or skills tests, and who also provide services to us, such as professional advisers, IT consultants, mailing houses and function co-ordinators. These third parties must comply with similar undertakings of privacy and confidentiality as Hansel;


h)  if Hansel merges with or is acquired by another business, we may share personal data with the new owners of the business and their advisers and if this happens, you will be sent notice of such an event;


i)  we may also release personal data to regulatory or law enforcement authorities, if they require us to do so; and


j)  we may also seek your consent to collect, hold, use and disclose your personal data for any other purpose not listed above.

 

5.    Data Security and Storage

Job seekers are advised that there are inherent risks in the transmission and storage of personal data via internet and digital storage system. Accordingly, while we seek to protect your personal data by implementing digital security systems in various parts of our database and computer systems, we cannot accept responsibility for the security of information you send to or receive from us over the Internet or for any unauthorized access or use of that information. 

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal data we hold from loss, unauthorized access, and misuse. Your personal data may be stored physically in hard copy documents, or electronically on our computer storage or external storage system which are protected by digital security system. When such copies are no longer in use they will be destroyed or deleted in a secure manner.


6.    Notice of Changes 

Hansel may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We suggest that you visit our website regularly to keep up to date with any changes.
